Loch Lomond Rescue Boat were paged today by Police Scotland at 15:37 on 29/08/25 on request of Scottish Ambulance Service to reports of persons on the West Highland Way who had fallen sustaining serious injuries and requiring immediate medical assistance.

LLRB launched and proceeded to the location near Ivow Island on the east side of Loch Lomond.

Once on scene, it was reported the casualty had fallen approximately 35-40ft landing on the rocks next to the water , our crew immediately began casualty care, assessing, treating, and packaging the casualty.

With the assistance of National park rangers we extricated the casualty to the Rescue Boat and conveyed them to the waiting ambulance at Inveruglus , a Trauma Team attended on Helimed 5 so our crew assisted by clearing the carpark & keeping members of the public at a safe distance for them to land.

We wish the casualty a speedy the other walkers who assisted prior to our arrival.
